Our Town

Westmoreland is a beautiful little town tucked into the rolling hills of Middle Tennessee. Located on the Highland Rim in northeastern Sumner County, Westmoreland is a community with a largely undocumented, but surprisingly rich history. Dating back to the early 1800’s, the town still shines with pride and historical family heritage.

Historic downtown, primarily built up on Park Street, contains the row of many original buildings which still line the street today. The oldest of the brick buildings was built by Harlan Law as a hardware store prior to 1920, the building today serves as the location for our specialty coffee shop, located inside the Old Country Store.

In the near future we hope to add a Farmer’s Market and Vintage Street Fair, as well as assorted performances and events in addition to our established “Annual Car Show”,” Owen Bradley Music Festival”, “Freedom Fest” Fourth of July Event, and the Annual Christmas Parade.

The Historic Caldwell House, as well as the famed "Little Tunnel", the shortest railroad tunnel in the world, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, lies just south of town, and is in the process of being fully restored to offer a walking trail, historic plaque, and more.

The downtown historic district of Westmoreland is just beginning to embrace its potential. It has a lot to offer, and will continue to grow. Several local, family owned businesses occupy the historic buildings, all within walking distance of one another. Our specialty coffee shop is tucked inside over 3,000 square feet of rare antiques and the town’s only historic museum. Our historic district is proud to offer a florist, a gift shop, a pizza and sandwich eatery, a music store, a beauty salon, a dentist, a lawyer, the library, the post office, our local “Westmoreland News” newspaper office, as well as room to grow with several historic buildings available for lease. We are excited about the community joining together to continue the greater revitalization, while preserving the rich heritage of beautiful Westmoreland, TN.
